To further facilitate student development, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi will use virtual reality (VR) to provide an immersive learning experience.
UAE University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with INSEAD, one of the world’s leading and largest graduate business schools, to improve the teaching and learning experience for students and contribute to the overall advancement of education.
VR using Insead XR will help students form a stronger connection between a subject and its surroundings. Using VR to immerse students in a lesson or scenario can enhance their retention of information.

Professor Silvia Serrano, vice president of Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, signed the agreement at the meeting on behalf of Dr Laurence Renault, vice president of academic affairs of the school, and Professor Peter Zemsky, vice president of INSEAD and dean of the School of Innovation. INSEAD Middle East campus in Abu Dhabi.
Dr Renault said Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi recognized the importance of using innovative technology to increase student engagement and enrich the learning experience.
“By partnering with INSEAD on this pioneering initiative, the university aims to integrate cutting-edge VR technology into its courses to create an immersive and interactive educational environment for students, thereby enhancing the student experience and educational journey.”
Zemsky said that INSEAD hopes to provide a transformative educational experience for the teachers and students of the Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi.
“INSEAD is a proud member of the Sorbonne University Alliance. Together with nine other members, we promote equal access to knowledge and develop shared programs in teaching and research.
