UAE: Walk 10,000 steps a day, save lives-News

[ad_1]

Every time a walk is completed, volunteers will donate 5 dirhams for a life-saving operation for a poor child

A unique health and fitness program initiated by the Aster DM Foundation brings people from six countries (India and the Gulf Cooperation Council) together and encourages them to walk at least 10,000 steps a day. For every 10,000 steps taken, volunteers of the program will donate 5 dirhams for life-saving surgery for a poor child.

On the occasion of World Heart Day celebrated on September 29 every year, the “Heart to Heart Walk” of Aster volunteers provides a rare opportunity to change the lives of impoverished children who are in urgent need of medical intervention.

With the joint efforts of the participants, the Aster DM Foundation will donate Dh5 (100 Indian rupees), at least 10,000 steps per day, to provide pediatric heart surgery for poor children through the Aster Volunteer Treatment Assistance Program in India.

This one-week program will ensure that a person walks at least 10,000 steps per day for 7 days, which can help generate 700 rupees or 35 dirhams to treat a child in India.

Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman and Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, said: “Aster Volunteers’ #Heart2Heart initiative emphasizes the importance of maintaining health and physical fitness, while maintaining spiritual satisfaction through the power of giving. Through #Heart2Heart activities, We hope to demonstrate the importance of active life by making exercise a part of daily life. Let us create an active generation who cares about their health, while contributing to the greater cause of creating a healthy future for poor children.”

Participants can register online at Heart2Heart.AsterVolunteers.com, or they can register at Zabeel Park from September 28th to October 8th at 7 am.

The plan will host a large-scale event in Zabeel Park on October 8, and the person who completes the most steps will also be rewarded.
