A severe dust storm has gripped the UAE since Monday morning, prompting authorities to issue alerts to motorists and safety guidelines for residents.
The Home Office urged road users to drive with caution due to erratic weather conditions.
Some parts of the country, including Dubai, saw light rain in the morning.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) also warned that horizontal visibility around the Abu Dhabi airport area will drop to less than 1,000 metres.
NCM Resident Advisory:
- Drive carefully and follow traffic rules
- Do not expose yourself directly to dust
- Lock all doors and windows to prevent dust from entering the house
- Follow the official weather forecast
- Authorities also urged the public to only follow official reports and avoid spreading any rumours.
