The weather is hot and humid across the UAE today, with occasional sand and dust in some areas. The Met Office also said low clouds were expected in the east and in the mountains in the afternoon.
According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) daily weather forecast: “[The weather will be] Generally cloudy, with low clouds over the East Coast in the morning and possibly convection over the mountains in the afternoon. “
Yesterday, Al Ain in Abu Dhabi recorded the highest temperature in the country at 47.2°C. Temperatures are expected to drop slightly today, especially along the western coast, the NCM said.
Coastal areas are expected to see maximum temperatures of 39 to 41°C. Maximum temperatures will be between 42 and 47°C in inland areas and between 29 and 34°C in the mountains.
“Humidity will increase over night and Tuesday morning along the northern coast,” the forecast added. Relative humidity (RH) will reach highs of 70% to 85% inland and along the coast.
Light to moderate winds will sometimes kick up dust in some areas.
According to the NCM, “swells will be light in the Arabian Gulf and light to moderate in the Sea of Oman”.
