The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued red and amber alerts for fog formation. This can cause horizontal visibility to drop to 1,000 meters, sometimes farther.
Several districts in Abu Dhabi have activated speed reduction systems and issued warnings to residents through social media posts, app alerts and mobile notifications. On some roads the speed limit has been changed to 80 km/h. Drivers are urged to keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead and obey traffic rules.
