The National Meteorological Center (NCM) stated in its September climate report released on Tuesday that September is the month when temperatures begin to drop, especially at night. It added that its second half, September 23, marked the beginning of the autumnal equinox, when the sun was directly perpendicular to the equator and then moved south toward the orbit of Capricorn.
The report said that this month, the impact of the Indian monsoon low pressure gradually weakened, and the country felt the impact of the desert hot lows on the Arabian Peninsula, accompanied by fresher winds, sometimes causing dust with poor horizontal visibility. Compared with the previous two months, the frequency of dust appearance is still low.
“Due to the sea/land breeze circulation, the southeast wind prevails late at night and early morning, and turns to the northwest wind in the afternoon and evening,” the NCM report said.
“Compared with August, the relative humidity has increased slightly this month, especially in the second half of the year. The average relative humidity is 49%, so the chance of fog/fog in different parts of the country has increased.”
Forecasters said that the eastern part of the county will still be affected by the Indian monsoon low pressure, especially the eastern mountainous area, which will lead to the formation of cumulonimbus clouds related to rain and thunder. It may expand into the inner area, causing rains of varying intensities.
