DUBAI: The UAE recorded a maximum temperature of 40.1°C yesterday, with temperatures rising in the country this week. While parts of Abu Dhabi have seen rain over the past two days, the Met Office said rain was possible in the south and east of the country today. The Bureau of Meteorology reported moderate rain over Liwa, Mukherz, Umm Al Ashtan in Al Dhafra district early this morning. Due to the rain, roads can be slippery, so motorists are advised to drive carefully.
According to the National Center for Meteorology (NCM), some convective clouds will be partly to partly cloudy with a chance of rain in parts of the south and east. Coastal areas will get wet overnight and Thursday morning.
Maximum temperatures in the interior of the country are expected to be between 35 and 40°C. Temperatures will reach 31 to 36°C in coastal areas and islands, and 22 to 27°C in mountains.

The maximum temperature in the Hamim Al Dhafra area was 40.1°C at 3.15pm.
We can expect light to moderate winds and clean air during the day, causing dust to kick up. Northeast to northwest winds at 10-20 km/h, sometimes up to 40 km/h.
Seas in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman will be relatively calm.
