Dubai: The highest temperature recorded in the UAE was 40.1°C yesterday. Official data showed temperatures rose in the country this week.

According to the Met Office, today’s maximum temperature is expected to be between 36 and 40°C.
The Met Office added that while most of the country will have sunny to partly cloudy weather today, the south and east of the country are likely to see cloudy skies and rain today.
Earlier today, the Meteorological Department reported moderate rain in Liwa, Mukherz, Umm Al Ashtan in Al Dhafra district. Due to the rain, roads can be slippery, so motorists are advised to drive carefully.
Maximum temperatures in the interior of the country are expected to be between 35 and 40°C. Temperatures will reach 31 to 36°C in coastal areas and islands, and 22 to 27°C in mountains.

Yesterday at 4.30am, the minimum temperature was 16.8°C on Mount Jais in Ras Al Khaimah.
The maximum temperature in the Hamim Al Dhafra area was 40.1°C at 3.15pm.
We can expect light to moderate winds and clean air during the day, causing dust to kick up. Northeast to northwest winds at 10-20 km/h, sometimes up to 40 km/h.
Seas in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman will be relatively calm.
