The UAE welcomed the signing of the seven-day ceasefire by representatives of the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces of the Republic of Sudan, expressing hope that it will be a step towards a comprehensive and sustainable agreement.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) commended the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America to sign the agreement so that relief supplies and humanitarian aid can be delivered, essential services restored, and efforts to end the crisis and de-escalate the situation, benefit the Sudanese people.
The ministry expressed hope that this step will help facilitate relief and humanitarian aid reaching the affected areas, especially for the most vulnerable including the sick, children, the elderly and women, and help achieve a permanent ceasefire to serve the people of Sudan interests and to achieve the desired political stability and security in Sudan.
