The United Arab Emirates welcomed the extension of the Black Sea grain export agreement for another four months and commended the efforts of the Republic of Turkey and the United Nations.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) reiterated that the extension of the agreement is a positive step that will help facilitate food shipments across the Black Sea from Ukraine and Russia, thereby alleviating global food shortages.
The ministry said the UAE appreciated the responses of the Russian and Ukrainian governments to these efforts.
The ministry also stressed the hope that these efforts will help build peace between the two countries, noting the importance of pooling ideas to promote regional and international peace and stability.
