January 22 is known as Celebrating Life Day. It’s a day for children and grandchildren who bring joy to everyone around them. The day has come to symbolize everything that is beautiful in life itself.

For many, especially since the Covid-19 pandemic, it has also become a reason to celebrate and assert our own childlike innocence.

On this occasion, Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman and Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare is calling on people to liberate their inner child on this day.

“As people age, they naturally lose their childlike qualities,” he said.

“It’s important to balance life for fun, maturity and control. Children have qualities like imagination – which helps them build airplanes from a piece of paper – and the curiosity to ask questions always helps in learning. Unfortunately, as we get older, that all goes away.”

professional development

For some industries, their future may depend on people being able to rediscover their childlike qualities. Sadia Khan, author and founder of Uhibbook Publishing, says openness and lack of egos are important to her industry.

“When change happens so quickly, I think people need to be open and eager to embrace new technologies,” she said.

“There are many distributors and publishers who still hold the mentality of ‘we need to publish x number of books’. What they don’t realize is that ChatGPT, artificial intelligence (AI) and digital distribution are transforming the industry every moment. For the industry It’s absolutely important for everyone in the world to come back to creativity, humility, and kid honesty and authenticity in telling stories and creating original content.”

Moreover, according to experts, these qualities not only enable people to live fulfilling lives, but also help them advance professionally. Training manager and development coach Preeti Wale Sagar says qualities such as curiosity, perseverance and optimism can help people go further in their careers.

“As a highly-regarded leadership quality, curiosity helps individuals listen to what their team members think, without any underlying preconceived ideas or judgments,” she says.

“Perseverance helps people achieve better results while building strong character and self-confidence. At the same time, optimism helps them take risks and innovate. Optimism [also] There are many health benefits, for example, it helps lower stress levels, promotes better sleep and fosters better relationships. All of these benefits help individuals perform better at work. “

Childlike personality

Dr Moopen said he agreed with psychologists that once a person matures, there are three parts to his or her personality – child, adult and parent. “While the adult is a positive, understanding, loving human being, the parent is controlling and critical,” he said.

“The third personality type is the curious, inquisitive, playful and adventurous child.”

In his view, a little bit of every part of a person is necessary for full development. “It’s been said that the right mix of balanced personalities is 60 percent adults, 20 percent parents, and 20 percent children,” he says.

“While the character requires the behaviors of both parent and child, any one of these behaviors in excess can have deleterious effects, not only on the person but on those around him.”

“I believe I’m more of an adult polluted by my parents and I wish I had more playful kids in me because they are imaginative and curious while creating more fun and excitement around me.”

According to Saadia, the day is also a reminder for adults and young people to learn from each other. “Older people have to realize that it’s good to learn from younger people and take their advice,” she said.

“The younger generation must understand that AI cannot replace wisdom and experience.
