She was found guilty of causing marital discord between him and his first wife.

According to Emarat Al Youm, a civil court in Ras Al Khaimah ordered a woman to pay Dh8,100 in damages to her husband for eavesdropping on her husband’s phone calls and sharing with his first wife and his daughter. Convicted of a private conversation.

The disclosure of the conversation led to a marriage discord between the husband and his first wife, which led to their divorce.

Earlier, the RAK Misdemeanor Court sentenced the defendant to violate her husband’s privacy, secretly access the email on his mobile phone and share private conversations, and was sentenced to one month in prison.

The husband filed a lawsuit in a civil court, claiming that the defendant (his second wife) used his mobile phone without his knowledge and shared the conversation between him and his first wife with his daughter. They all live abroad.

He claims that he paid for the travel abroad while trying to settle with his first wife who had filed for divorce.

He also claimed to have paid the shipping cost for his items and that he had to pay the unpaid dowry fee.

The man claimed that he lost his job due to a marital dispute.

He demanded Dh25,000 in order to suffer economic and mental losses and invasion of privacy.

The defendant admitted to sharing the conversation, but claimed that the lawsuit was malicious and should be dismissed. She also asked her husband to pay alimony of Dh3,000 per month.

The court found the defendant guilty and stated that the plaintiff had paid AED 2,100 in legal fees because of her, which she should repay.

However, the court refused to compensate the husband for material damages, including loss of work and expenses incurred due to travel abroad, on the grounds of insufficient evidence.

The court ordered the defendant to pay Dh8,100 in damages and bear his legal costs.
