A young woman from Al Ain poured hot water on her friend’s face and chest during a fierce quarrel, and has been ordered to pay AED 45,000 as compensation for the damage caused.
Court documents stated that the woman filed a lawsuit against the defendant, demanding compensation of 100,000 dirhams for the physical, mental and material damages she suffered due to the burns.
Her lawsuit alleges that the defendant poured hot water on her, causing her face, hands and chest to suffer first- and second-degree burns.
She said she left permanent scars that affected her work and family life.
Although the defendant insisted that the incident was an accident, Ain’s court of first instance ordered her to pay the victim 45,000 dirhams as compensation for the damage caused.
