Sheikh Mohammed ordered the naming of the street in recognition and appreciation of His Royal Highness’s role in supporting and empowering women
As the UAE celebrates UAE Women’s Day on Saturday, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Executive Committee, named the gateway to Qasr The main street Al Bahar intersects with Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street to commemorate His Highness Sheikh Fatima Bint Mubarak Al Nahyan, Chairman of the National Women’s League, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Mothers and Children, Supreme Chairman of the Family Development Foundation and Mother of the Country.
The Abu Dhabi Government Media Office stated on Friday that these directives are recognition and appreciation of His Royal Highness’s role in supporting and enhancing all aspects of women’s lives in the UAE.
Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Committee and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, served as Sheikha on Friday Fatima bint Mubarak Street was unveiled, and the ceremony coincided with UAE Women’s Day to celebrate the journey of His Highness.
Some high-level government representatives attended the ceremony, highlighting the project initiated by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima to advance women’s progress, and including a short film about the key initiatives she has led since the establishment of the UAE.
Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed emphasized that the role played by His Royal Highness in the development of the UAE has enabled Emirati women to increase their contribution to society.
He said that the naming of Shekha Fatima as the main street is a gratitude to the women who supported the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed. It also thanked her for all the initiatives and projects that benefited women and children and helped Emirati women gain prominence locally and internationally. In addition, His Royal Highness supports many international projects that empower women.
Sheikh Khalid also expressed his sincere gratitude to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his guidance and selection of the street ending in Qasr Al Bahar. The streets and the founding fathers witnessed the various stages of the country’s construction.
