UAE’s Kathiri, Fadhli reach black belt finals at Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Championships

On Day 8 of the World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championships in Abu Dhabi, purple, brown and black belt champions took to the stage, and the Jiu-Jitsu arena was in full swing. Elite Jiu-Jitsu fighters showcase their talents and skills in front of hundreds of Jiu-Jitsu enthusiasts who flock to the arena from around the world.

After the finals in the Purple and Brown Belt categories, the UAE’s Commando Group topped the standings, followed by Brazil’s Gfteam in second and PSLPB Cicero Costha (Brazil) in third.

The jiu-jitsu world will be in the spotlight at the black belt finals in the UAE capital on Saturday, followed by the much-anticipated Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Awards. Zayed Al Kathiri and Omar Al Fadhli of the United Arab Emirates have secured a spot in Saturday’s black belt final.

Abdul Moniem Al Hashemi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, Jose Aguero Avila, Ambassador of the Republic of Paraguay, Fabricio Satiro Oliveira, Mayor of Spa Camboriu, Brazil, General Saed Hijazi Salameh, attended Friday’s competition Premier Motors Jaguar Land Rover Sales Manager and UAEJJF Secretary-General Fahad Ali Al Shamsi.

Mohamed Bin Dalmouk Al Dhaheri, board member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, noted that there were some intense fights on Friday, especially from the UAE champions

“I congratulate Zayed Al Kathiri and Omar Al Fadhli for reaching the black belt final. They are one win away from making history and accomplishing a feat that has never been achieved. I also ask their loyal fans to support them wholeheartedly in tomorrow’s fight ,”He says.

Dhaheri stressed that the excellent performance of the players in today’s match is a testament to the UAEJJF’s successful strategy, which includes providing them with all the resources they need to hone their skills.

Fabricio Satiro Oliveira, the mayor of Balnerio Cambori, Brazil, came to the stadium in person to express his support for the players and cheer for the outstanding Brazilian athletes.

“The level of competition, excellence and dedication to the development of jiu-jitsu in Abu Dhabi that I’ve seen here is inspiring,” he said.

He added that he planned to build a training center in his city, which he said “will help them run games of the quality that he experienced in Abu Dhabi and will impact lives.”

Mayed Alshehhi (purple belt) of the United Arab Emirates took silver in the 56kg category, moving the hosts to the top of the medal table.

“Winning a medal at the World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championships in Abu Dhabi is a huge step forward for any player looking to become a professional Jiu-Jitsu professional in the future. I’m a bit disappointed not to get a gold medal, but we have to recognize that failure is part of the game A necessary component. This is a lesson for me to keep improving myself and win more medals in the future,” said the club champion Baniyas.

Omar Ali Arsuwardi, also from Baniyas, won silver in the same division.
