UAE’s new visa rules for foreigners to take effect on October 3

Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has issued new rules for residence visas and entry permit visas, which will come into effect on Monday, October 3, 2022.

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) confirmed on Friday that the new advanced visa system will come into effect on October 3, 2022, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

The biggest news for tourists entering the UAE is that tourist visas are valid for 60 days, an increase from the current 30 days.

A five-year multiple-entry tourist visa was also announced, allowing tourists to stay in the UAE for up to 90 consecutive days. However, a year cannot exceed 180 days.

Expanding the UAE Golden Visa

The advanced visa regime provides golden visa holders with new benefits, which include visas that remain valid no matter how long the holder stays outside the UAE, the removal of the maximum number of sponsored domestic workers, and the addition of family members. Live in UAE. The visa is valid until the country where the sponsor (golden visa holder) dies.

Eligibility for the Golden Visa has been extended to include directors, managers and professionals in the fields of science, engineering, health, education, business and technology.

The prestigious 10-year-old visa category just got easier for highly skilled residents, professionals, investors, entrepreneurs, academics, pioneers, students and pioneers.

New five-year green visa

The five-year UAE green visa is a residency visa that allows the holder to take care of themselves for five years without corporate sponsorship and offers a range of benefits to family members.

Three categories of UAE residents can apply for a green visa:

  • Freelancer or Self Employed
  • Investors or partners in commercial enterprises

Residence permit

Many visas, including a one-year remote work visa, a five-year retirement visa and a two-year business owner visa, do not require a sponsor and can be renewed for the same period.

Residents can also sponsor their unmarried sons to age 25 instead of 18, and unmarried daughters, regardless of age.

This visa was introduced to attract young talents and skilled professionals to explore employment opportunities in the country. It is awarded to those classified as skill level 1, 2 or 3 according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation and recent graduates of Fortune 500 universities. The minimum education level should be a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
