Ugandan Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja praised the UAE’s global leadership and competitiveness, as well as its experience in modernizing government operations and its eagerness to share its expertise with other governments.
She made the statement while meeting a UAE government delegation at the Trade and Export Competitiveness Forum in the Ugandan capital Kampala. During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various areas of government action.
The UAE delegation included Abdullah Nasser Lootah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange and Chairman of the Competitiveness Committee, Abdullah Hassan Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Uganda, and Manal bin Salem, Head of the Government’s Knowledge Exchange Programme.
During the forum, the UAE government delegation held a series of bilateral meetings with Ugandan government ministers and officials, including the Ministers of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Home Affairs, as well as representatives of the aviation sector.
During the meeting, the UAE delegation presented the country’s experience in government management and modernization of government work. It also discussed cooperation between the UAE and Uganda in areas such as digital security and food safety, as well as ways to benefit from the UAE’s successful expertise in aviation.
The meeting also discussed the goals of the Government Experience Exchange Program and its major achievements since its launch in 2018, including the establishment of government modernization strategic partnerships and bilateral cooperation agreements with 29 countries on five continents.
