UN confirms Houthi missiles targeting Saudi Arabia, UAE came from Iran

[ad_1]

The United Nations has again confirmed that the missiles fired by the Mehouthi militias at Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates over the past two years were Iranian missiles.

Speaking to the Security Council at a conference on the Iranian nuclear issue on Friday, UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs and Peacebuilding, Rosemary DiCarlo, said:Fragments of nine ballistic missiles and six cruise missiles have similar designs, features and components to previously inspected missiles and was assessed to be of Iranian descent. ”

She also called on the United States and the Islamic Republic to “mobilize quickly with the same spirit and commitment to resume cooperation under the JCPOA.”

Along with the UN secretary general, she “called on the United States to lift or waive the sanctions outlined in the plan and to extend waivers for trade in oil with Iran.”

They also urged Iran to “reverse steps it has taken that are inconsistent with its nuclear-related commitments under the program,” noting that the International Atomic Energy Agency estimates Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium is more than 15 times what the program allows. JCPOA, which includes uranium enriched to 20% and 60%, “is very concerning”.

In addition, Britain, France and Germany called on Iran to halt and reverse its nuclear escalation, resume full cooperation with the IAEA, and seize the proposals on the table Stop procrastinating.
