United Arab Emirates: Etihad Airways says it will not conduct Covid-19 PCR testing on passengers returning to Abu Dhabi within 72 hours-News

Etihad Airways stated that it strives to provide convenience for passengers travelling on business and taking short breaks.

Etihad Airways stated that passengers travelling 72 hours from Abu Dhabi do not need to provide a negative PCR Covid-19 test report when returning to the UAE capital.

The UAE national airline said that it has made a decision to make it easier and easier for passengers on short breaks and business trips.

However, passengers are required to carry a negative PCR report when leaving the flight at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

“For travels of less than 72 hours, valid PCR tests carried out in the UAE are now also available for the return journey. This means there is no need to carry out PCR tests before flying back to Abu Dhabi… The certificate is within 72 hours from the date of publication of the results Effective,” the airline said.

Etihad Airways is the first airline in the world to have 100% of its flight crew vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2, which can cause Covid-19.

In addition, it is the first airline to require passengers to submit negative PCR test results before departure.

On Wednesday (July 28), Etihad Airways expanded the International Air Transport Association (IATA) travel pass to seven destinations including Bangkok, Barcelona, ​​Geneva, Madrid, Milan, New York and Singapore.

In early July, the Austrian capital Vienna has become the 65th passenger destination in the airline’s network.

Etihad Airways announced that passenger travel from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to the UAE has been suspended until August 2, and passenger travel from India and Pakistan will be suspended until further notice in accordance with the latest government directives.

However, UAE nationals, diplomatic missions, official delegations, and 10-year golden visa holders are not subject to restrictions on entry into the UAE.

These passengers will be subject to acceptance and quarantine conditions.

Etihad Airways will continue to operate flights to all four countries.
