The total investment provided by the United States (United States) and Europe was $321.2 billion, or approximately Rs 4712.3 trillion. Both predate Chinese technology.

US President Joe Biden signed into law the Chips and Science Act for high-tech manufacturing and scientific research. By law, he pledged $280 billion or 4108 trillion rupees.

The law also allocated about $200 billion to agencies such as the National Science Foundation. The goal is to increase investment in areas such as robotics and wireless communications.

Biden called it a “once in a generation” investment.

The investment also aims to provide tax breaks for companies that make chip factories.chipset,

Some companies have specifically sought support from the U.S. government to reduce their reliance on China in response to chip shortages.

Today, U.S. semiconductor production accounts for about 10% of total global supply. This proportion has fallen from around 40% in 1990.

And the EU provided more than 40 billion euros or about 41.2 billion US dollars (604.3 trillion rupiah) of commitments. The funds are used to increase chip production.

U.S. Senate Democrat Chuck Schumer said the Chip and Science Act would be a “game changer.” He also believes that this will ensure American leadership and prosperity.

“By enforcing the Chip and Science Act, we believe ‘the great America’ is back,” Schumer said. BBCWednesday (10/8).
