US Army Will Immediately Begin Discharging Soldiers

[ad_1]

When it comes to serving this country, you must meet a few qualifications. Some are being strong, determined, and now vaccinated! The US Army isn’t playing any games and is beginning to discharge soldiers who refuse to be vaccinated for COVID-19according to NPR. The military branch made the announcement earlier today. Reports show the Army follows a directive issued by Secretary of the Army Christine Wormuth.

The Secretary of the Army has instructed commanders to initiate involuntary administrative separation proceedings against any soldier who refuses the COVID-19 vaccination order. This includes those who do not have an approved or pending exemption request. If you recall, the Department of Defense pushed to make COVID-19 vaccinations required for all department employees in August 2021.

Secretary of the Army Wormuth released a statement about the Army’s decision to discharge soldiers. She stated, “Army readiness depends on Soldiers who are prepared to train, deploy, fight and win our nation’s wars.” She continued, “Unvaccinated Soldiers present risk to the force and jeopardized readiness. We will begin involuntary separation proceedings for Soldiers who refuse the vaccine order and are not pending a final decision on an exemption.”

Soldiers who are discharged will be missing out on a bag. The military won’t be giving any handouts. Soldiers will not be eligible for involuntary separation pay, and on top of that, they may have to return any unearned special or incentive pay. Currently, 96% of active troops have been fully vaccinated, while 3,350 soldiers have refused the vaccine. In addition, nearly 5,900 have received temporary exemptions. The Army isn’t the only branch that is discharging soldiers. The Air Force was the first of the three branches to announce dismissals last December. The Marines have also released 103 troops in December. Roomies, drop a comment, and let us know your thoughts!
