US commemorates the 20th anniversary of 9/11 | US and Canadian News

[ad_1]

On the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the United States called for unity in a solemn ceremony, as the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan and the Taliban’s return to power resonated even more.

At the memorial service held in New York on September 11, relatives wiped away their tears and read aloud the names of nearly 3,000 people killed in the attack, which was the deadliest attack in American history.

Most of the deadly “return to ground” services—some of them jumped to their deaths from the burning tower of the World Trade Center—are carried out under strict security measures, and Lower Manhattan is effectively sealed off.

At 8:46 in the morning, the first of the six silent moments was marked, and the bell rang, symbolizing the time when the first hijacked plane crashed into the North Tower.

At 9:03 in the morning, the participants stood still again to commemorate the moment the South Tower was hit. At 9:37 in the morning, it was the Pentagon. The hijacked passenger plane killed 184 people on the plane and on the ground.

At 9:59 in the morning, the moment the South Tower collapsed. At 10:03 in the morning, they remembered that the fourth plane crashed into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania after passengers fought the hijacker. At 10:28 in the morning, the North Tower collapsed.

It was less than two weeks before the last group of American soldiers left Kabul and ended the so-called “eternal war.”
