US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband undergoes surgery after attack World News

U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi, underwent surgery for a fractured skull and other serious injuries after he was hammered at his California home Friday morning.

“Mr. Pelosi was admitted to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, where he underwent successful surgery to repair a fractured skull and severe damage to his right arm and hand. His doctors expect a full recovery,” spokesman Nan Drew Hamill, a spokesman for Shipelosi, said. In a statement, posted on her website.

Paul Pelosi was hit with a hammer at his home in San Francisco, California. The attacker, a male attacker, also tried to bind Pelosi’s husband while he waited for Nancy to come home.

The speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives said that Paul was violently attacked at his home, threatening his life, and asked to see the speaker. She and her family also expressed gratitude and thanked people for their outpouring of support and prayers in the wake of Paul Pelosi’s deadly attack.

“The Speaker and her family are grateful to friends, voters and people across the country for their tremendous support and prayers. The Pelosi family is very grateful to Mr. Pelosi’s entire medical team and law enforcement officers who responded to the attack. The family is grateful for the Respect their privacy,” the statement added.

The man who allegedly assaulted Paul Pelosi on Friday morning is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins said.

David DePape, the suspect accused of entering Pelosi’s home and hitting him with a hammer, is now facing multiple felony charges, including attempted murder, CNN reported.

“We are closely coordinating this investigation with our federal and local law enforcement partners. We will file multiple felony charges on Monday and expect DePape to be arraigned on Tuesday. DePape will be held responsible for his heinous crimes,” Jenkins tweeted Special wrote.

US President Joe Biden called the attack on Pelosi’s husband “despicable.” “It’s despicable,” Biden said at a fundraising dinner in Philadelphia on Friday. “There’s no place in America — there’s too much violence, political violence. Too much hate. Too much vitriol.”

In an official statement, White House press secretary Carin Jean-Pierre condemned the attack on Paul Pelosi and said prayers are with Speaker Pelosi’s family.

She said the U.S. president was also praying for Paul Pelosi and held a morning meeting with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to show his support for the horrific attack.

“The President is praying for Paul Pelosi and Speaker Pelosi’s family. He called Speaker Pelosi this morning to express his support for this horrific attack. He is also pleased that a full recovery is expected. President Continue to condemn all violence and demand respect for the family’s desire for privacy,” the official statement read.

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris also spoke on the phone with Nancy Pelosi after Pelosi’s husband, Paul, was hammered at the couple’s home in San Francisco. She called the attack “an act of extreme violence”.

According to analysts, the speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives is the second in line to become the president of the United States after the vice president in case the president becomes incapacitated.
