The 18-year-old Emma Raducanu and the 19-year-old Leylah Fernandez will face each other in the US Open final to win their first Grand Slam championship.

Junior tennis prodigies Emma Raducanu and Leylah Fernandez will compete after their amazing results in the first Grand Slam final of the US Open.

Britain’s Raducanu and Canada’s Fernandez will meet at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Saturday, where one of them will win her first Grand Slam championship.

The 18-year-old Radukanu became the first qualifier to enter the Grand Slam final and the youngest Grand Slam finalist in 17 years.

According to Agence France-Presse, she said: “I made it to the finals and I couldn’t believe it.”

Radukanu’s goal is to become the first British woman to win a Grand Slam title since Virginia Wade at Wimbledon in 1977. Midfielder retired In her fourth round of Wimbledon in July, she cited unspecified health issues.

Former tennis ace John McEnroe and several others sparked a backlash when they hinted that Raducanu would withdraw from the game because she could not withstand the pressure of such an occasion.

“Today, I didn’t consider anyone else except myself,” Radukanu said after winning the match against the Greek athlete Maria Sakari on Thursday and qualifying for the final.

British legend Tim Henman has always been one of Radukanu’s staunch supporters.

“Tim was a great inspiration,” Radukanu said. “He has been helping me, telling me,’Take one point at a time. You have to stay in the moment and you can’t surpass yourself.'”

The British athlete’s father is Romanian and his mother is Chinese. He has not lost a set for nine consecutive games.

The 19-year-old Fernandez qualified for the final after defeating Belarus’ Alina Sabalenka on Thursday, which has never appeared in a Grand Slam tournament since Serena Williams of Wimbledon in 2012 Score.

“Now I can say that I did a good job of realizing my dreams,” Fernandez said.

“I just want to play a final. I will enjoy my victory and worry about tomorrow,” she added.

Saturday’s game will be the first all-youth final since the 17-year-old Williams defeated the 18-year-old Martina Hingis at the 1999 U.S. Open.
