As the largest infrastructure investment in the United States in decades, the passage of this bill will be a key victory for President Joe Biden.

The U.S. Senate will work this week to complete a $1 trillion infrastructure investment bill that will bring long-awaited improvements to roads, bridges, and public transportation systems, as well as rare opportunities for President Joe Biden Victory of the two parties.

After a long meeting on Saturday and Sunday, Senate negotiators announced that they had completed the drafting of a 2,702-page bill, which was quickly submitted, clearing the way for senators to debate the amendment.

“Congress has passed such a major independent investment for decades,” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said in a speech in the Senate.

“Finally, a bipartisan group of senators formulated a bill that will invest a lot of resources to repair, maintain and upgrade our country’s physical infrastructure,” the Democratic leader added.

If the bill is passed, it will become the largest infrastructure investment in the United States in decades.

Its passage will mark a huge victory for Democrat Biden and the deeply divided Congress. It will follow $1.9 trillion economic stimulus plan And the coronavirus aid bill that was enacted earlier this year without Republican support.

This will also clear the way for Democrats to start formulating a budget framework without Republican support, which will outline a plan for a 3.5 trillion dollar “human infrastructure” bill.

The bill will use federal funds to combat climate change, help millions of immigrants obtain legal protection, and provide funding for expanded health care, including funding for seniors who need help at home.

The Senate first needs to finalize the infrastructure bill, which aims to upgrade the country’s aging roads, bridges, and railway lines and expand high-speed Internet access to rural areas where the economy is hampered by old technology.

The legislation will also help establish a national network of electric vehicle charging stations and replace lead water pipes, although the content is lower than Biden’s original requirements.

In the rare signs of bipartisan cooperation last week, the initiative won early support from enough Republicans to start a debate on the bill. Some senators said that unless something unexpected happens, the bill may be ready for a final vote as early as this week.

On Monday, three Republican senators — John Corning, Rick Scott, and Martha Blackburn — criticized the infrastructure bill, saying they didn’t have enough time to consider it and to finance one of them Ways to raise objections.

“The Democrats are eager for success [through] An infrastructure bill that no one has a chance to read,” Blackburn said in an article on Twitter. None of the three Republican senators supported the bill in an earlier procedural vote.
