US: Trump takes Twitter to court to restore his account-News

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit in federal court, demanding that Twitter temporarily restore his account, while he is working to promote permanent restoration.

Trump filed a preliminary injunction request against Twitter in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida on Friday evening.

The document stated that, as quoted by ABC News, Twitter “exercises a certain degree of power and control over the political discourse of this country, which is immeasurable, unprecedented, and extremely dangerous for public debate. .”

Trump argued that Twitter was “coerced” by members of Congress to suspend his account.

In July, Trump announced a class action lawsuit Lawsuits against Facebook, Twitter, and Google’s subsidiary YouTube And their CEO. The lawsuit stated that the status of the three major technology giants “has been elevated from a private company to a status of a state actor” and that they were subject to the First Amendment’s right to freedom of speech in their censorship decisions on users.
