USA: Student arrested hours after shooting at school in Texas-News

After fighting broke out in a high school, two people were shot and the other two were injured in unknown circumstances

Authorities said that an 18-year-old student shot at his high school in the Dallas area on Wednesday, wounding four people, then fled and was detained several hours later.

The Arlington Police Department wrote on Twitter that Timothy George Simpkins was detained without an accident and charged with multiple serious gun assaults.

“This is not random violence,” he said. “This is not someone who attacked our school.”

Timberview serves approximately 1,900 students in grades 9-12. This huge complex opened in 2004.

After news of the shooting spread, the parents gathered at the Performing Arts Center of the Mansfield Independent School District, about 5 miles (8 kilometers) from the high school, to reunite with their children, and they were driven by a bus.
