The actress posted several photos on Instagram, the first of herself smiling with Van Halen, the second of their son, wolfgang van halenpeeking between them while they’re all grinning.
Bertinelli captioned the post with a simple white heart Emoticons.
Many people commented on the update sharing their memories of the rock legend and wishing her and Wolfgang all the best.
One person commented in support, “Peace be with you and Wolfie today. May good memories fill your day.”
Van Halen passed away on October 6, 2020 after a long battle with throat cancer.
Wolfgang confirmed his death on Twitter, writing: “He was the best dad I could have asked for. Every moment I shared with him on and off stage was a gift. My My heart is broken and I don’t think I will fully recover from this loss. I love you So much, Dad. “
Bertinelli also shared tributes to her ex-husband on Instagram when he passed away.
She wrote, “40 years ago, my Life Changed forever when I met you. You gave me the only true light in my life, our son Wolfgang. Through all of your challenging treatment for lung cancer, you have maintained your gorgeous spirit and impish smile.
I am so grateful Wolfie and I were able to hold you in your final moments.
See you in the next life, dear. “
The pair were married for more than 25 years from 1981 to 2007, but they apparently remained very close after their divorce, as they shared raising their son.
van halen co-founded the rock band van halen and his brother, alex van halen, in 1972, he played guitar and keyboards, sang backing vocals, and was the main songwriter on their record. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.
