Explain the background of you and the company in detail.
I’m Vandana Joshi, and I’m the CEO of Start Any Business. I have been in the UAE for over 8 years and have worn many hats. I’ve worked for others, worked with partners, and started a few companies. However, the biggest challenge I have faced throughout my involvement with starting new businesses has been the market guidance that I got through business consultants in Dubai and the hefty hidden costs that popped up just when I thought I had it all sorted.
I saw that challenge as an opportunity where I just thought to myself, “Why not have a business consultant who is 100% transparent?” So that was the seed sown for Start Any Business in 2021. And as they say, “the rest is history.” At Start Any Business, we are a 100% transparent business consultancy. We share all government bills in their original form with our clients and tell them exactly what the costs will be based on the kind of business they choose to start.
We help our clients choose the right business and what their target market should be, based on the intelligence given to us by our research team, who have been in various positions in the UAE ecosystem for decades. In addition, we have an in-house accounting team, professional advisory team, digital team, and legal team to look after the early teething issues of startups who are our clients.
What are your goals?

As I said earlier, the utter ambiguous nature of business consultants in Dubai made me take up this challenge.
What have been the biggest challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest challenge has been to decide on the right business model/activity and market information for UAE for our investors. You need to understand that people starting their business setup in Dubai are not being funded with huge amounts.
Most of them have very little and want to save the maximum for promotions and get new clients. So, to ensure they invest the least in the formation and within their limitations to provide them the guidance and advisory that will help them hold their ground for the long term is and has been the biggest challenge. But, while I say this, I must also admit that the challenge has helped us enhance our own knowledge and critical thinking while benefiting our investors.

What do you value most about your culture and vision?
We have an open culture here at Start Any Business. We have people from multiple nationalities who contribute to the culture of this company. Furthermore, we work as a team and learn from cross-cultural professionals. Every client has complimented us for the environment they have seen at our office.
Tell us about a project that forced you to be innovative and creative.
I have been into many creative ideas and concepts before establishing Start Any Business. The other projects I have been working on are Task Master Gulf, Best Startup Story, and MIVA Real Estate.
We’ll soon be launching an investment company that will support new startup ideas and will also invest in them.
What are the strategies of your company, and how do they stand unique from your competitors?
I believe in people, and people make companies. We love our staff and treat each one of them as our extended family. We have 100% retention and will continue to do so while enhancing each one of their skills and proficiency through various training, seminars, and global exposures. They all give top-quality service and take ownership to make Start Any Business a better place.
What are the key values that helped you overcome the roadblocks/challenges in your career? Tell us something about your memorable incident in your leadership?
We face a new challenge every day as we have to cater to clients from different backgrounds trying to open different businesses. However, we understand problems and make a note of them, and the next time a similar thing pops up, we know how to handle it. In addition, we have implemented an in-house cloud-based ERP.
We monitor the process of company formation in Dubai from the day of its inception and have streamlined and documented everything that has been carried out under that business. So, no data is ever gone, and references work well. These are shared with the clients via cloud login. We are now working on an app where the clients can just log in and check any documentation or service they need.
How do you see the company changing in two years, and how do you see yourself creating that change?
I started the company with 3 people. Now we have 3 offices (2 in the UAE and 1 in India) with an employee strength of 40 people within one year of operation. I don’t know, about 2 years, but we should have a team size of about 100 employees at the end of this year.
Where is your leadership going? What benefits do your clients get from your company in this competitive world?
We have a single motto – get the work done. So, when someone approaches us, we ensure to get together as a team and solve all the queries. We also make sure that the client is not left with any sort of ambiguity or confusion. Moreover, our additional services are priced in a way where it reduces the operations and the capital expense by almost half. So, in a way, we’re not saying bye to our clients once they’ve started their business. Instead, we make sure that the business gets early feet to walk fast.
