Based on its rising prospects globally, the vertical farming industry will hold its inaugural Middle East Conference from December 12 to 14 in Abu Dhabi.
“Increasingly, governments in the region are looking at vertical farming as an integral part of their strategies for healthy nutrition, local fresh produce and year-round sustainability,” commented event organiser Richard Hall, Chairman of Zenith Global, a specialist food consultant.
“This inaugural Middle East conference will connect leading international and regional operators and suppliers with government authorities, advisors, investors, customers and the media,” he added.
With the theme of self-sufficiency strategies, the first Middle East Vertical Farming Conference will be held in conjunction with the UAE Food and Beverage Business Group, in partnership with FoodTech Valley (WASL and the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment).
The three-day event will include multiple presentations and panel discussions, two dinners, roundtables on best practice development, and vertical farm tours in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Speakers confirmed so far include:
- Keynote speech by the UAE Food and Beverage Manufacturers Group and Carrefour.
- AeroFarms, Infarm, N.Thing and YesHealth, world leaders in vertical farming.
- Middle Eastern innovators Al Aliyo, Beirut Farm, Natufia and Uns Farms.
The program aims to raise the profile and awareness of vertical farming and support the development and growth of individual businesses through best practices and networking.
