Vice President Amin holds bilateral meeting with UAE President

Jakarta (Antara) – Indonesian Vice President Malouf Amin held a bilateral meeting with United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ) at the Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi meeting.

During the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor stressed that the cooperation to build the Indonesian Institute of Future Studies through the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Humanities (MBZUH) and Nahdlatul Ulama University (UNU) in Yogyakarta should be realized immediately.

“I urge the UAE President to support the immediate realization of cooperation,” Amin said in a press statement received here on Thursday.

In addition, he expressed his desire to strengthen cooperation in efforts to promote moderate Islam, especially by sending imams from Indonesia to preach in mosques in the UAE.

“Currently, Indonesia has sent 70 imams to the UAE. I believe that the goal of sending 200 imams will be easier to achieve with the support of the President of MBZ,” he said.

On the other hand, the Vice President praised the cooperation between Indonesia and the UAE in the construction of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and Islamic Centre in Solo, Central Java, which will be held on November 17 by Indonesian President Joko Widodo and President MBZ Inauguration. 2022.

The Vice President also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the UAE government for supporting the construction of the Indonesian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the new Indonesian Ambassador’s Residence.

“Hopefully we can further strengthen the cooperation and brotherhood between our two countries,” Amin said.

At the same time, the President of MBZ also welcomed all the wishes of Vice President Armin. He also said that there are multiple areas of cooperation between Indonesia and the UAE, especially in technology, to support the development of the Institute of Future Studies.

“I think Indonesia is a country with a fairly high capability in the technological field,” he said.

Furthermore, he pointed out that the large population is one of Indonesia’s advantages over other Islamic countries.

The MBZ president believes that by all the metrics available, Indonesia will be a great country in the next 25 years.

“(This is) because Indonesia has stable support. This will be the most important factor in the progress of a country,” the president affirmed.

Furthermore, he said that the Indonesian workforce has a high work ethic. Therefore, his country is keen to strengthen cooperation in the field of employment, including in the technical and economic fields and with Muslim countries.
