The Etihad Railway Company shared a video on Twitter showing the progress of the line laying process.
Upon completion, the train will travel south to Al Dhafra; follow this track north towards Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
The Etihad Railway Company wrote on Twitter that it will connect the UAE’s “major industrial centers” and consolidate “the foundation for the economic and social development of the entire UAE”.
Khuloud Al Mazrouei, assistant project manager of Etihad Railway Company, said in the video that construction is proceeding as planned.

The Etihad Railway is the national railway of the UAE.
According to the official website of the UAE government, this railway will connect all seven emirates and the other five countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council: Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Oman.
It will be 1,200 kilometers long. In the south, it will extend to the border of Saudi Arabia; according to information about the United States, in the east, it will touch Oman.

“It will have several freight terminals, distribution centers and warehouses, close to major transportation hubs, warehouses and storage facilities in the UAE.
“The Etihad Railway Company started commercial activities in January 2016 after completing the first phase of the network, which spans 264 kilometers from Shah and Habshan (where Abu Dhabi’s gas fields are located) to the port of Ruwais on the west coast of Abu Dhabi. ,” the website added.
