Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Police has again urged motorists to avoid sudden stops on the roads as such practices may lead to serious traffic accidents.
In video footage released by Abu Dhabi police, a van suddenly stops, causing a multi-vehicle collision. The white van was parked in the middle lane and three vehicles following it narrowly missed hitting it. Moments later, a sedan swerved to avoid the parked van, but eventually crashed into it. The car spun out of control and hit a bus, the front of which was destroyed. At the same time, the van that stopped suddenly also spun and hit a silver four-wheeled vehicle that couldn’t give way. Another sedan was also trapped in the wreckage.

Police say if motorists need to make an unscheduled stop, they must proceed to the nearest exit rather than stop abruptly. In an emergency, the vehicle can also attempt to safely stop on a hard shoulder.
Drivers must also maintain their full attention so that they can try to avoid any collisions on the road.
