Video: The world’s largest live snake is now in Abu Dhabi-News

[ad_1]

She will live in the flooded forest area with more than 8,000 fascinating rainforest creatures.

The newest 14-year-old resident of the UAE is an excellent swimmer, weighing 115 kilograms, and likes to eat ducks and rabbits. During the measurement, 12 people are required to completely hug her.

We are talking about what is believed to be the largest live snake on display in the world.

Super Snake is a 7-meter-long reticulated python whose new home is the National Aquarium (TNA) in Al Qana, Abu Dhabi. She will live in the flooded forest area with more than 8,000 fascinating rainforest creatures.

The reticulated python is native to South Asia and Southeast Asia and is the longest snake in the world. They can grow to more than 5 meters in the wild, and the largest ever can grow to 10 meters.

Although this species is non-toxic, they kill prey by wrapping themselves around the prey and contracting tighter when the victim exhales. What makes them even more frightening is that the jaws of pythons are connected by very flexible ligaments, allowing them to stretch around large prey and swallow them whole.

The reticulated python is widely feared because of its size and ferocity, and is one of the few snakes that can prey on humans.

Although attacks on humans are not common, the species has caused several reported human deaths. Considering their incredible size, a mature reticulated python can open large enough to swallow a villain’s jaw. There are many reports of people being eaten by reticulated pythons, especially on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. The size of the super snake is similar to these reported cannibals.

On the other hand, the new super snake in the UAE was born in a captive breeding program in Los Angeles. In her 14 years as a private specimen, she has become accustomed to contact with people.

Visitors will soon be able to see Super Snake at TNA, marvel at her intricate patterns, and see the huge size of this natural miracle for the first time.

TNA curator Beatriz Maquieira said: “Although Super Snake is a captive-bred animal, we as her caretakers still need to be vigilant and cautious about her. We can’t wait to let the public know her and appreciate her slightly quirky personality. We are also very happy to have the opportunity to educate our visitors, because this is the fundamental reason why she is here.”

TNA General Manager Paul Hamilton added: “We are sure that Super Snake will become one of the biggest attractions in Abu Dhabi National Aquarium. Just watching her relax in the lush tropical habitat is fascinating. The size of Super Snake Her size and beauty will make her the strongest representative in our Flooded Forest series.”
