Video: Threats issued in UAE up to 7 years in prison-News

Authorities say anyone who forces others to commit a felony will also face imprisonment.

The UAE Public Prosecutor explained the punishment for the crime of threats through educational videos posted on its social media accounts.

According to the authorities, according to Article 351 of the Federal Criminal Code, any person threatens others in writing or verbally to commit a felony to his person or property or the person or property of another person, through attribution or disclosure of dishonour, if all of these are accompanied by A request or instruction to do or not to do something, or if there is such an intent, will be sentenced to a maximum of seven years’ imprisonment.

Article 352 of the same law stipulates that, in addition to the circumstances specified in the previous article, who threatens another person to commit a felony on his person, property, or the person or property of another person through attribution or disclosure of disgraceful matters, he shall be investigated for criminal responsibility in accordance with the law. Will also be punished by imprisonment.

Finally, according to Article 353, in circumstances other than those mentioned in the previous two articles, who threaten others in writing or verbally, by behavior or signature, or threaten others through others, shall be sentenced to imprisonment not exceeding one year or fine not exceeding 1,000 dirhams.
