Sheikha Fatima bint Al Mubarak, Chairman of the General Women’s Federation, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Maternity and Childhood, Supreme Chairman of the Family Development Foundation and Honorary Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), has directed medical care to be arranged for some UAE hospitals of Syrian earthquake victims, including children.
The ERC has immediately started implementing Sheikha Fatima’s directives and is coordinating with some of the largest hospitals in the country to expedite the admission process for the wounded and their families to provide needed medical care.
ERC board chairman Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei said Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak’s directive was part of her interest in improving the well-being of victims of the Syrian earthquake.
He noted that Sheikha Fatima’s initiative further supports the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian and relief efforts in Syria following the devastating earthquake that hit Syria.
Al Mazrouei said the ERC had completed arrangements to receive the first batch of earthquake victims and their families. They will be supported until they have fully recovered and returned to their countries safe and sound.
He explained that the authorities wanted to include some children in the group because of their ill health. They will receive the necessary care and support.
