Vidya Balan questions why only the director Sanjay Leela Bhansari Taking all the credit for Gangubai Kathiawadi’s success and implying that the reason Alia Bhatt is not being praised like most male actors after a hit movie is due to polysexuality. In an interview with the Film Companion roundtable, Vidya asked: “Why does Steel White do well? If a woman’s film is good, it is the director’s credit, which is ridiculous.”
She continued, “We as women have worked really hard to have a place today, and we’re here to be the protagonists of movies. More and more actresses are doing that. I love what’s happening post-pandemic because men Movies don’t work, and they turn around and say women’s movies can’t be more effective. How ridiculous?
