Utah native and Grammy nominee Jewel, along with Post Malone and actors Vin Diesel and Ben Affleck, will be among this weekend’s performers NBA All-Star Game in Salt Lake City.
Jewel will perform ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ ahead of Sunday’s All-Star Game, Diesel will greet fans and Post Malone will perform a medley after the game LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo pick the team for the game.
The halftime show will feature Afrobeats-themed performances by three Nigerian artists – Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and producer Burna Boy, Grammy- and Oscar-nominated singer Tems and rapper Rema .
After halftime, the NBA will host a celebration to commemorate James passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the league’s career scoring leader earlier this month.
July Black will be singing the Canadian national anthem before the game.
Affleck, who stars in the upcoming film “Air” — the story of how Sonny Vaccaro signed Michael Jordan to a Nike deal — will introduce the team ahead of Friday night’s All-Star Game.
Utah-based band The Bonner Family will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” ahead of Friday’s Rising Stars game and then again on Saturday — along with “Sing It Up,” sometimes known as the Black Anthem — at the NBA HBCU Classic College Basketball The game is played between the Southern and Grambling states.
