Fiber optic cable brand Vivify has launched the Xenos W35, an 8K HDMI active fiber optic cable boasting 48Gbps speeds.
The cable can be up to 15 feet/5 meters in length without the need for an additional USB power adapter. It is also certified to withstand a crushing force of 450kgf, high temperatures up to 85ËšC and humidity levels of 90%.
In addition to the advantages of active fiber optic cables being lighter, more flexible, and more durable, fiber optics provide a more stable lossless signal that is immune to electromagnetic interference (EMI).

With eARC, the Xenos W35’s HDMI connection can be plugged directly into a TV and send uncompressed high-resolution audio directly from the eARC port to a soundbar, receiver or amplifier.
The new HDMI standard also introduces support for Dynamic HDR to ensure video is displayed with ideal depth, detail, brightness, contrast and wider color gamut values.
For consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, the W35 supports Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) technology for smooth 8k 60Hz and 4K 120Hz gaming while reducing screen tearing and framerates Stutter.
Using rigorous testing methods, every cable is tested to ensure all usage scenarios are covered. The quality control process includes testing cables for torsion, accidental unplugging, cable bending, signal quality and compatibility, extreme environments, compression resistance, plug-and-play and mating force.
The Xenos W35 is currently available for pre-order at $42 ($61) (15ft/$4.5m), $57 ($83) (32ft/$10m) and $72 ($105) (50ft/$15m) ). Additionally, users can request customizable lengths for the Xenos W35 up to 164 feet/50 meters.
