The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) noted that moderate to heavy rain fell in Hatta in Dubai and Masfut in Ajman at 6.10am this morning. Heavy rain also fell in Al Munial area of ​​Ras Al Khaimah at 6 am and Al Arad area of ​​Al Ain at 5:55 am. Moderate rain fell on Sir Baniyas Island in the Al Dhafra area at 6:53 am.
Multiple images released by the weather-linked storm center showed torrential rain across the country, accompanied by high winds and shallow pools filling roads.
One video shows heavy rain pattering on the windshield of a car as the wipers frantically sweep it away; another shows pools of rainwater rolling gently past as trees sway gently in the wind A road in Khorfakkan.
A particularly emotional video taken by a resident at 12.45am last night even showed what appeared to be lightning as cars were driven through the shower. Another image showed rain-soaked roads in a residential area of ​​Abu Dhabi, with water droplets covering the windshields of cars.
The National Weather Service issued a yellow warning for large sea waves today, reminding residents to be vigilant when participating in outdoor activities. An orange warning for convective clouds and fresh winds was also issued just before 10am today and residents were asked to remain vigilant for hazardous weather events. They are also advised to follow the advice issued by the authorities.
