This year’s Gitex Global attracted over 138,000 visitors and around 5,000 exhibitors – the largest in the show’s history
On Friday, the Crown Prince of Dubai explored Gitex Global, the final day of the world’s largest tech event.
Sharing a series of photos on Twitter, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said: “Bright minds gather in Dubai to start the journey of the future.”
With around 5,000 exhibitors, including 1,400 new companies, this year’s Gitex Global is the largest in the show’s history.
It took more than 138,000 visitors into the future, showcasing some of the world’s coolest technology, from flying car to humanoid robot and Gloves that let you ‘feel’ things in the digital world. He added that Dubai has turned into a large laboratory where the best minds come together to tackle global challenges.
Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, along with Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the UAE, visited several pavilions, including the showcase computing at G42, a leader in artificial intelligence, cloud computing Technology and Smart Cities.
Leaders also saw a flying car from Chinese company Xpeng, which made headlines earlier this week when the X2 vehicle made its first global public flight.
In a video shared on Twitter by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in the emirate, Sheikh Hamdan is also exploring the latest technology in visa services.
During its participation in Gitex, GDRFA announced that it will soon All services are provided through facial recognition.
This means that residents do not need to present their passports or any other identification documents to apply for visas and entry permits. They can easily complete the process without leaving home.
Sheikh Maktoum also visited Gitex Global’s Sharjah Government Pavilion, where 10 government entities showcased 15 projects and initiatives.
