The authorities posted photos of the new design and described its advanced security features.
The service life of the new card is longer, up to more than 10 years. It has other areas such as professional data, issuing agencies, and demographic groups.
ICA earlier launched an electronic version of the ID card through the authority’s application.
The UAE ID card is an ID card issued by ICA, which is a legal requirement for all UAE citizens and residents.
The new design of the UAE passport and UAE ID was first announced at a cabinet meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, in November last year.
The new ID documents have additional visual and electronic security features to combat identity fraud and strengthen domestic and international confidence in travel documents.
