Watch this week’s Perseid meteor shower from the top of the UAE

[ad_1]

Who will be your mountaintop meteor observation partner…?

The UAE likes to work hard in lighting and fireworks displays, but in the wild shadows over there, the universe has done a lot of practice in carrying out its own fireworks displays.

On Thursday, August 12th, as the Perseid Meteor Shower (also known as the Perseid Meteor Shower) reaches its most prolific peak, with 60 to 100 meteors ejected every hour, the fire will rain in the sky above us.

The best place to watch the Perseid meteor shower in the UAE

The best place to watch star ballet is of course the place with the least light and air pollution.

Few places in the Middle East can meet these requirements as thoroughly as Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah.

What is Perseus?

The Perseid meteor shower is an annual astronomical event that can be observed from the earth with the naked eye. The objects that make up the display are particles from the Perseus cloud, which is a small amount of regular space dust sprinkled from the tail of Comet Swift-Tuttle.

They are named “Perseus” because according to the trajectory, they seem to come from Perseus. While we are making fun of things, we might as well take a brief look at the Greek mythology-Perseus is named after a Greek demigod, and the half-human son of Zeus is known for his work. With Medusa’s snakehead, Andromeda was rescued from the sea monster Xitus.

Between July 17 and August 24, dozens of meteors crossed the upper limit of the Earth’s atmosphere, casting long kaleidoscope tails, and bursting out fireballs against the background of the dark night sky.

The intensity of showers is always the highest around mid-August, and the climax of this year is expected to be on August 12.
