Residents of the UAE have been enjoying relatively cool weather over the weekend as rains poured down. Mother Nature had a downpour of rain on Saturday, along with lightning and thunderstorms.
It will continue to rain in some parts of the country, but the public should pay attention to lightning protection. The UAE National Center of Meteorology (NCM) reported heavy rain in Abu Dhabi since Sunday morning. In Dubai, light rain occurred in the Mina Jebel Ali area.
The Metropolitan Department recorded moderate to heavy rain in Ghana, accompanied by lightning and thunder. Al Bahia also experiences light to average rainfall. Videos of rain falling at Abu Dhabi International Airport have flooded social media platforms. However, there have been no reports of flight disruptions due to the weather.

The intensity of the rainfall has flooded major streets, neighborhoods and valleys in these areas. Citizens and expatriates have been urged to stay away from flooded areas and valleys.
On Thursday, the UAE announced new traffic fines of up to AED 2,000 aimed at improving safety, especially in emergencies related to rainy and unstable weather conditions. Gathering near valleys, flood zones and dams, entering flooded valleys will attract fines and black points from authorities.
Abu Dhabi Police also activated a new road alert system on highways to alert drivers to traffic accidents or weather conditions. The aim is to enhance road safety for motorists.
The Abu Dhabi Municipality has been monitoring the weather conditions and has confirmed that its emergency response teams are ready 24/7 to deal with any emergency. In case of fallen trees, collapsed ponds, collapsed street lamps, etc., citizens can contact the authorities through various channels.

Weather in the UAE will be partly cloudy and dusty at times over the next few days, with rain-associated convective clouds likely to form in some eastern, inner and western areas.
