The Ministry of Defense’s Joint Operations Command, in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Prevention and the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), delivered 10 state-of-the-art ambulances to Syria as part of Operation Valiant Rider 2 and the UAE’s ongoing efforts to aid the people of Syria affected by the earthquake .

Dr. Salem Al Falasi, who is in charge of following up on the needs of the Syrian health sector, said that this initiative is a continuation of the UAE’s humanitarian support to the recovering Syrian people and is in line with the UAE leadership’s vision to launch such an initiative.

Dr Al Falasi added that this support will continue to ensure that the basic humanitarian needs of the Syrian people are met, as the ambulances are equipped to go off-road into the rough terrain and provide medical care to those affected by the earthquake.

He emphasized that the UAE continues to support the health sector in Syria as part of Operation Valiant Knight 2 and to identify and meet the needs of Syrian hospitals and health authorities.

For his part, Dr. Somer Ahmed, Deputy Director of Latakia’s Health Ministry, commended the UAE’s ongoing efforts to support the Syrian health sector by providing state-of-the-art ambulances, which make it easier for medical personnel to carry out their duties.
