The Big Bang Theory will be put to the test this weekend.
There are public fireworks displays at various locations in the Mahoning Valley throughout the weekend (it’s hard to keep these things a secret).
Here is a partial overview:
- Friday and Tuesday: After the Scrapers game at Niles Eastwood Stadium.
- Saturday: Downtown Sharon, PA
- on Monday: Westminster College is located in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania.
- Tuesday: Canfield Fair, Packard Hall in Warren, downtown Youngstown, Pearson Park in Newcastle, PA.
Another highlight of the weekend is Saturday’s Kool & The Gang concert at the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre. Founded by Youngstown native Robert “Kool” Bell, the legendary band has a slew of dance-funk hits, as well as some new music on the horizon.

The Harry Stevens Day Festival, named after the Niles local who invented the hot dog, starts at 10 a.m. at Eastwood Field in Niles, free admission Field and free parking. Festival goers can stick around for the 2:05 pm Scrappers game and the Vegas Band’s postgame concert.
We’ll all be back at work by Wednesday, but alternative rock group Collective Soul (“Shine,” “December,” “The World I Know”) will be playing that night at Packard Music Hall in Warren at 7 p.m. point concert.click here.
