JACKSON, Tennessee — The West Tennessee State Fair is back, with entertainment and events for people to watch all weekend long.
“This week at the show tonight, we had some beauty contests, we had Sid the Science Guy outside, a lot of kids loved Sid the Science Guy, and we had Memphis wrestling tonight,” said show manager Mike Peery.
There is a commercial ewe and market lamb show before Friday’s wrestling. On Saturday, the event continued with more pageants.
“The pageants here are very well attended,” Perry said. “In fact, it was the best I’ve ever seen at the West Tennessee State Fair. JC Coughlin worked really hard, a lot of the waiters here had a great time, the girls were beautiful, and the family had a great time.”
In addition to the pageant, the West Tennessee Top Voices final, a bird of prey show and other animal shows will take place this weekend.
“The West Tennessee Voices game is well attended, and tomorrow we’re going down to ten at five o’clock and we’ll have a winner, and the West Tennessee Voice winner will get $1,000,” Peery said.
On Sundays, doors open at 11 a.m. and admission is free for those attending the Rambs Memorial United Methodist Church service on the fairgrounds.
“If you come to church at 11, you get a ticket, and you get free access to the fair, because you come to church, and from 12 to 1 is going to be a special-needs clock,” Perry said. .
If you do not plan to attend worship on Sunday, admission is $5 and wristbands are $20. Wristbands are $25 on Saturdays.
