The 8th World Green Economy Summit (WGES 2022) will focus on empowering youth to play an important role in building a sustainable future, accelerating the transition to renewable energy and creating positive change in society. In addition to energy, finance and food security, discussions on youth are one of the summit’s thematic pillars.
The summit is an ideal platform for youth to express their views on shaping the future and share their views with decision makers. This is achieved through the active participation of youth in high-level discussions with experts and thought leaders on the green economy and climate change.
Youth can also provide decision-making advice at local, national and international levels and contribute in developing plans and strategies to advance climate action and green goals for the next generation.
spread awareness
In addition, WGES 2022 prioritizes educating youth about environmental and sustainability issues and encourages them to start environmentally friendly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The summit also enhances the role of young entrepreneurs by enhancing their ability to find innovative and sustainable solutions and accelerating green growth globally for sustainable development.
WGES 2022 will be held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) and the World Green Economy Organization (WGEO) and Dubai’s Supreme Energy Council will host a summit on 28-29 September 2022 in conjunction with the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Show (DSS) organised by Dewa on September 27, 2022.

Egypt will host the UNFCCC’s 27th Conference of the Parties (COP27) next November and the UAE will host COP28 next year. The summit also cemented the UAE’s position in the region as one of the key players in driving international efforts to promote the transition to a green economy.
