China reported no new Covid-19-related deaths on Tuesday, despite reports of a surge in daily cases in the country – just a month after the Chinese government lifted a nearly three-year lockdown. The total number of deaths from the coronavirus in China stands at 5,241, according to the National Health Commission, according to Reuters.

1. China 3,101 new symptomatic cases of Covid-19 infection were reported on Tuesday, compared with 2,722 a day earlier.
