3. According to Reuters, several advisers to the World Health Organization (WHO) said that “it may be too early to declare the end of the emergency phase of the Covid-19 pandemic due to the potential for devastating waves in China”.

4. A top scientist – Eric Feigedin – warned on Monday “More than 60% of China’s population and 10% of Earth’s population could be infected within the next 90 days,” and the death toll would “likely reach millions.”

5. At the same time, the United States expressed its readiness to assist China in dealing with its surging Covid-19 outbreak. “We are prepared to continue to support countries around the world, including China, in providing health support related to COVID-19,” State Department spokesman Ned Price said at a daily news briefing.
