Abu Dhabi’s New Year’s Eve celebrations will be seeing a number of diversions, so take note, the Integrated Transport Center (ITC) Abu Dhabi announced on Thursday 29th December. Bridges to and from Al Maryah Island will be closed from Saturday 31 December 2022 at 11pm until Sunday 1 January 2023 at 12:30am due to celebrations.

In the tweet above, the image shows which bridges will be closed, with red for closed and green for open.
Abu Dhabi Police also announced that trucks, heavy vehicles, labor buses and buses transporting workers will also be banned on all roads and streets within the emirate. This will include Sheikh Zayed Bridge, Sheikh Khalifa Bridge, Musaffah Bridge and Section Bridge. The ban will be in effect from 7am on Saturday, December 31 until 7am on Sunday, January 1, 2023.
Gen. Mahmoud Youssef Al-Balushi, Director of Traffic and Patrol at the Central Operations Department, said smart systems will be used to provide more traffic control during this busy period.
The ITC also mentioned that there will also be a ban on the island of Abu Dhabi, but vehicles of logistics and general cleaning companies are exempt from the ban on the island.
